Context & Overview

During its initial three years, Antidote Health concentrated exclusively on delivering telehealth services. The next phase marked a strategic evolution as the company expanded its scope to operate as a comprehensive HMO. This transition involved introducing new capabilities, including insurance services, and promoting collaborations with diverse medical providers.

As we entered this transformative phase, the design team initiated a comprehensive rethinking process to adapt our platform for the new services. To kickstart this process, we conducted a design thinking workshop involving all stakeholders. This collaborative session fostered an environment for creative ideation, collective problem-solving, and aligning diverse perspectives, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent design adaptations. The workshop not only empowered the design team but also ensured that the insights and expectations of all stakeholders were actively considered in the evolving design strategy.

Research & User Interviews

In addition to the workshop, and in close collaboration with the product team, we conducted thorough research and numerous user interviews to understand the evolving needs and expectations of our members. This comprehensive approach enabled us to gather valuable insights into user preferences, pain points, and desired functionalities. By incorporating direct feedback from our users, we were able to shape a user-centric design that meets their current requirements while also anticipating their future needs within a holistic health management platform.

Problems & Challenges

Designing the new homepage posed several challenges, primarily centered around the need to present numerous actions and information to our users without overwhelming them. Finding the right balance between enabling fast access to speaking with a doctor, facilitating other essential actions, and ensuring accessibility to crucial information required careful decision-making.

Prototype

Recognizing these challenges, we wanted to better comprehend what the right hierarchy would be. Therefore, we conducted a thorough analysis to understand which actions and flows would be most frequently used by our users. This foundational understanding guided our approach as we designed several layout options, ensuring that our choices were informed by a deep understanding of user behavior and usage patterns.Designing a clear hierarchy played a crucial role, guiding users through the interface seamlessly. This process demanded thoughtful design decisions and strategic prioritization to achieve an optimal user experience.

Presentation and usability tests

Beginning with low-fidelity wireframes, we focused on the overall layout of the homepage, as it is the user's first encounter with our app. These wireframes were then transformed into interactive prototypes, allowing us to simulate the user experience and gather feedback on the functionality and usability. Through multiple rounds of user testing and refinement, we fine-tuned the prototype, addressing any identified issues and incorporating valuable insights. This iterative process enabled us to validate design choices, enhance user interactions, and ultimately arrive at a prototype that aligns with our users' needs.

Visual Interface

Designing the visual interface we aimed at creating a visually appealing and user-friendly experience. We started by translating the approved wireframes into high-fidelity designs, paying close attention to visual elements such as color schemes, typography, and iconography. The goal was to establish a cohesive and engaging design that aligns with Antidote's brand while ensuring clarity and ease of navigation. As a part of this process, we undertook a brand refresh initiative, updating colors, fonts, and illustrations to infuse a more modern and fresh look and feel. Iterative design reviews and feedback sessions from users as well as stake holders within the company were conducted to refine and enhance the visual elements, resulting in a thoughtfully crafted interface that resonates with users and effectively communicates the brand's values and services.

Adjusting the app's homepage for desktop, we wanted to optimize the layout and navigation for larger screens. We adjusted elements for better readability and user experience, aiming for a seamless transition from the mobile version. The goal was to ensure an intuitive and visually consistent desktop experience while making the most of the extra screen space and maintaining clarity and simplicity.
